Can a hair grow from the skin-surface inward? lets not say grow- can your skin take the hair in?

Lets say you get a haircut and a loose hair falls onto your skin can you absorb the loose cut hair? or not?

No your skin won't absorb the loose hair-being a hairstylist I have gotten a "hair splinter" where a short little prickly clipping stuck in me like a splinter but that's it. The way you worded your question I thought you were talking about an ingrown hair-which of course happens, but not the way you explained lol
