Okay first of all I would like to commend you for standing by her and thinking of what you could do to make her feel better sounds like you really lover her. I am an Army Bratt growing up I knew that my dad could be called away on a moments notice and we would't see him for a long time or know where he was. It is hard and sometimes the only thing a person can do to help is be there listen and hold them when they cry.
A lot of people tend to think that going to going to fight for our country is noble and it is but is also very hard on the families left to pray for their loved one to be safe and come home. Eventually she will learn to deal with this and put it in a place inside so she can function day to day until then just do what ur doing now, even though it doesn't feel like enough it means more than you can imagine.
Good luck and I will keep u all in my prayers.

Short of hijacking his plane and flying it to Canada there isn't much you can do. Just be there for her, tell her to call you, no matter what time of day it is, whenever she feels sad. Being supportive and with her will help her accept the fact that her father is going to Iraq faster and knowing that she has a caring boyfriend will help her emotions as well. Try doing things that are fun to try to take her mind off things.
For example, she's sad and she's crying. Tell her that you're there for her and if she would like to go to the movies or a night out on the town. That will help take her mind off things for a while.

All you can do is just be there for her and let her know
that she can talk to you at anytime when she feels sad,
day or night. Her feelings will be less emotional once time
had passed after her dad has left, so just be by her side
and she will adjust.

This is a deeply emotional & difficult time for her. Just continue being supportive like you are. There is no "cure" for this kind of worry, just learning how to cope.

Tell your girlfriend that she has to be strong that her Father is going to Iraq. Her sadness is noted, but it also reveals that she has no confidence in him.
