Registered Nurse here; No fever is NOT a sign of being allergic to penicillin. It is a clear indication that you need the penicillin to fight of the infectious bacteria that is causing your fever. Here's the symptoms of allergic reaction. 1. General Itching, 2. Hives 3. Difficulty breathing, if this is occurring stop whatever your doing and call 911 now. 4. Generalized redness, 5. Feelings of anxiety, nervous. 6. Any rash, breaking out of the skin, flushed feeling, all except number 3 are mild allergic reactions. Again if having any difficulty breathing, call 911 or have someone take you to the nearest emergency room. If you have benedryl on hand take 50 mg. now, if your able to swallow, if your experiencing any allergic symptoms.

The usual allergic reactions to penicillin is rash or abdominal discomfort, with extreme cases involving difficulty breathing. If this happens, go to the nearest ER IMMEDIATELY as it is a life or death situation. For mild rashes, some get relief with taking benadryl. But always let your doctor know if you have an allergic reaction to any medication so it can be added to your chart and then it won't be prescribed for you again.

Penicillin contains virus. A good virus to kill the bad virus. When your body is infected by virus (any), you'll get fever as first stage of illness. So it's pretty common to get fever after consuming penicillin. Allergic rection does something else.

actually since no one has yet to mention Fever can infact be a reaction to anti-biotics its called "drug fever". have you been taking any other meds with the anti-bodies? are you on more than one antibiotic? if your just taking penicillin and ony penicillin then the fever is more than likely from the infection however it could very well be either or on this

yes it can happen.there are certain medications that have certain side effects and fever can be one of them. my advice is to call the doctor and tell them that you have a fever and they will put you on the right meds or it could be that you may have another infection and the penicillin the doctor gave you is used for specific bacteria instead or it resisted. please call the doctor and tell them about your symptoms
