I would keep telling yourself "this is for a better me this is for a healthier me" and i wouldn't care what other people thought. if you really need to gain weight i don't think that is a thing to be ashamed about...just tell your Friends that your doctor said that you have to gain weight and this and if they are your real friends than they shouldn't make fun of you for it they should just treat you the same

Well, if this is really true, I have to ask you who raised you and how were you raised. This is a very average, healthy meal plan. Some people eat a stack of pancakes, 3 eggs, sausage and bacon, milk, juice and coffee with cream and sugar for breakfast alone, or eggs, a huge steak and potatoes for breakfast. My six year old grandson is tall for high age, but already weighs 65 pounds and if far from fat. Most people eat 3 meals a day, with a snack or coffee break in the morning and afternoon and then a little something after dinner. You don't mention desserts like cake, pies, brownies. If you don't eat, you won't survive or be able to have a family or live a long life. Eating should not be the primary thing you do with your life, but it certainly is essential for life and health. Do what the nutritionist says.

The nutritionist is correct. Women have to have a certain amount of body fat/weight in order to menstruate or even get pregnant. I was 5'7" 185 and went down to 109. Guess what? My period stopped. I got back up to 125 and, guess what? It came back. I feel even better at 135 and have been 135 to 140 for about 20 years. I am now 5'9" and anything outside of this range feels out of sorts. I exercise at least two times a week for about three hours each time. I don't eat much meat but LOVE vegetables. I'm not a vegetarian, though. Maybe too muc information, but my period started back as soon as I got to a weight and body fat level
at which my body needed to be.

Wow! You might have a fast metabolism, which will burn a lot more calories that the average bearette in the woods. The menu you describe is a little LIGHT at lunch. But remember, great health comes from a BALANCE in diet, rest, and exercise, and in your case might also include stress reduction or something in the emotional area if you don't sleep well, or get by on less that 6 hours per night.
Since it's taken 2 years to make this modest--but important--improvement, chances are that there is another area of your life that needs tweaking. If so, have courage and address the issue. Best of luck.

You need to be checked/ blood work for an overactive thyroid. My cousin had one, she was skinny but she ate fast food 24/7.It Finely slowed down and she gain a bunch of weight 30 pounds. She weighs more than me, we're about the same height but she has a smaller bones structure. I have always ate less than most people , that is a lot of food, I probably eat 33% of that. If I ate like that I would be really big. I'm 125 pounds with 2 kids

If you can't have a period it's because your body fat is too low. It's a mechanism that protects women from the nutritional demands of pregnancy when they are starving. The normal fat intake should be 20-30% of your calories. If I were you, I'd lean towards the 30% to build up your body fat to the point where your body can function normally again. You should know that your hypothalamus - a part of your brain - has about 20 identified appetite centers, including appetite for each of the major food types (fats, carbohydrates and proteins). Some of the research in this area leads one to suspect that prolonged aversion from fat causes the fat appetite nucleus to atrophy, leading to anorexia. One of the problems we've had in recent years is having the football coach teach nutrition (fat = bad = eliminate). Now we know that this has probably caused the increase in anorexia, ADD and other brain disorders since the brain is mostly fat.

You havn't given your age, height, or medical profile so please concider those issues when reading my answer. From the info you have given, it sounds as if your food guy is giving good advice. He/she hasn't loaded you up with a lot of fats, sugars, or other unhealthy options to gain. It does (and is) a lot of food to eat in a single day. Ask your food guy about "cheeting" one or two days a month. Perhaps you can eat one of those horrific Burger King breakfast sandwiches for breakfast and then skip one snack. It's not something you would want to do often, but if there arn't any other medical issues maby you can work something out.

I heard if you start eating more peanut butter you should start racking up the pounds.
As for you regular in take on food I don't see that it is a lot. Yes your eating at more times of the day. But you are eating little portions.
I know that if I eat just a p and j sandwich that I am usually still hungry.

I wish I could be you. I am on the totally opposit end. It takes nothing for me to gain weight and girl, believe me, what you have just listed up there ain't that much of food to eat. Anyhow, try to follow your nutritionist and eat healthy. Even though you want to gain weights, you want to gain it properly. Junk foods can rapidly help you gain all the weights, but you will also get fat, which ain't food. So I say, stick to your plan and have fun eating. Good luck!

You better not hurry...just do your routine eating and just consult with your nutritionist if it can be adjusted so that you dont get to eat "much"... I know you felt that way because you have been used to your old eating habits...just make some adjustments with the advice of your dietician... I think you need to have to start your period huh? If your problem is nutritional, then I believe you'd soon get your period. If it's hormonal, then its time to get a second opinion from a qualified doctor. Good luck !

i wish i was in ur place!! haha, im trying to lose weight. ANYWAY yes, being underweight can prevent ur period from starting. and no, i don't think that is alot of food, and don't blow me off as a fatty just saying that cuz i eat a lot, im barely overweight, about 3 pounds. you do NOT need to be embarrased, you obviously have a medical condition, just like any other! would people make fun of you for taking pills? or anything else? don't be embarrased, its not alot of food, i kno people who eat twice that (eww) i hope you get better.
