it'd be more rude not to cancel. cause if you're that tired you wont be able to give them the attention they deserve on the date

I don't know about rude, but just dissappointing to your date. Maybe you should tell ask him if you can just get a pizza and a movie and stay in because you are so exhausted. That way you are putting it in your date's hands. If your date truely understands, they might just offer to cancel. If not, just make the best of it. It may turn out to be the best date you've had, tired or not.

If that is the real reason and you told the truth about it, then no it's not rude. If you were exhausted you proably would not be much company anyway. I have been on both ends of that before and though it can be disappointing, I think people appreciate the honesty.

No it is sensible. But you need to make it quite clear that you are not making an excuse and that you really want to set another date for the date.
If you end up going out of feelings of guilt you are not going to have a good time, and quite possibly end up having a sucky date which will make him think you don't really like him. Better to postpone and enjoy a date when you are fresh.

More disappointing than rude. I wouldn't expect someone to go out with me if they were just worn out, even if we'd both been looking forward to the date...how much fun would they have trying not to fall asleep over dinner (or whatever we did).
I think it's more selfish to expect someone to go out with you, no matter how they are feeling, than it is rude for them to put it off until they can give you their best.

It is a little rude but if he cares about you he should understand. Just make sure you tell him a new time for a date.

I guess it depends on how well you know the person. If it is a first or second date they would probably take it the wrong way.

Yea it is a little selfish if the person really really wants to see you before they leave. If its not that serious then tell the person you'll see them when they get back!!!

I dont know, if you have a really patient and sweet date, maybe he doesn't mind. =) But personally, it gets on my nerves when people cancel on me on the spot.
