I dont get why some parents dont mind it all unless you come home and wake up safe the next morning. Those parents only get mad if stuff gets broken or they get caught which is very understandable. Then there are other parents who will hear rumors of you drinking and go crazy about it. They dont want you to have a social life even though when they were kids they did the same things. I just dont understand the thoughts running through there minds. If you dont do it every weekend or when you do come home your not trashed and can walk straight I dont see a problem.

Ages for drinking are put there for a reason. It is supposed to be that you are an adult and are responsible, even though it doesn't always work that way. You don't have to drink to be social....Its not a matter of whether you are trashed or can walk straight, think of your safety, and the safety of others when you make a decision to drink...underage or not.

I see a big problem with it actually. Some teens use "oh I was wasted" as an excuse for something stupid they did, It's not necessarily that us parents want to ruin the kids social life it's trying to make them responsible adults later on in life. If you were to look at the statistics of those kids who's parents didn't care if they drank, later on in life the majority of them became alchoholics. I myself as a parent, would much rather my daughter see that it is possible to have fun without being drunk or drinking because it is achievable. My daughter has never thought I ruined her social life, she has actually praised me after being in the college scene now for the way I was. She was thankful I talked to her the affects, possible dangers etc. She has seen way to much even at 18.

The problem is when a number of underaged drinkers get together and run a rampage through the streets destroying people property and starting fights. Cars and underaged drink drivers is another problem.
