Impossible to answer without more info. Depends on where you live, do you have a house with a yard or live in an apt., are you home with the dog during the day, do you have kids, etc. You need to find a website where they can advise you as to what kind of dog is best for your situation, there are many. Just don' t get a breed that is not compatible with your situation or neither you nor the dog will be happy about it.

Do you want a small dog you can hold? A big dog to wrestle with? A dog to play frisbee with? Will it be an inside or an outside dog? Once you decide where and how it will live, your decision on which breed will be much easier.

You have to do research on different dog breeds. Start by looking at different breeds with physical traits that you want, then research their temperment types. For example, do you want a large, medium, or small dog. What coat type do you want and how much time do you want to spend on grooming? long haired, short haired, medium haired. Also just what looks in a dog appeal to you. I like large, smushy faced, short haired dogs (mastiffs, bulldogs, pit bulls).
Then you have to look at their temperment types. Do you want your dog for a specific reason? like hunting, agility, guard dog, or a comanion. Do you want a high energy dog or a layed back dog. And a ton of other things that can go into different breeds. I like dogs who are loyal, obedient and playful, but can also be layed back. So for my, pit bulls and bulldogs are my favorite.
Good websites to go to for research are dogbreedinfo.com and the AKC website: akc.org. I hope this helps. Good luck in finding your new friend!

The kind you rescue from a shelter. Mixed breeds in general are genetically healthier and when you go you can then spend enough time to get a feel for the personality match too.

A pound dog! Lots of purebreds if you want, or mixbreeds are cool too! I like big dogs if you have the room. I like German Shepherds. Save a life! Good luck!

get a german shepherd. They are extremely intelegent, trustworthy, and loyal.
don't get a tiny yippy dog, like a chiwawa. They are cute and all, but they piddle on the floor when they get excited. Trust me, I know from experience about both the issues. German shepherd is the way to go. Not piddle dogs.

well that depends on how big or small you want the dog if you want a small dog, go for a chihuahua or a yorkie, if you want a medium dog, get a beagle or a jack russel, if you want a big dog , get a pit bull, rottweiler, german shepard or husky.
