Do you believe its imminent and/or necesssary that we get thumbs down or reported for expressing ourselves? This goes for any religion im saying people should be encouraged for their individuality and not ridiculed for not being one sided. In my opinion we need to lighten up and be more tolerant to others, easier said than done, but greater achievements have been made. What do you think?

We need to realize that this is a place to share ideas. There should be no fear of reprisal for sharing one point of view or the other.

I have no problem with giving/receiving thumbs down...it's an opinion. But I do think there's too much reporting going on.
Spam should be reported. A few egregious cases here and there...but for the most part I wish people would just rate it up/down and move on.

Yeah, I think it is, I mean the thumbs down or up is just people expressing themselves back about what they think of our statements. It's really not a big deal, being unique individuals means that we're not all going to agree on everything.

I think people get too upset about the "thumbs up/down" thing. I use it when one or more people have expressed my thoughts very closely and there's no need for me to add to it.

I don't even look at the thumbs up or thumbs down. I don't report because it is censoring. Reporting spam is good, as long as the first post remains intact. Bias is censorship.

I only give thumbs down for patently incorrect information that misrepresents a religion's true belief. E.G., "Buddha was a God that lived thousands of years ago."

I think thumbs down are appropriate if someone is rude, or if they give a silly answer to a serious question (I mean when the questioner is serious about his question). A silly answer to a sill question doesn't merit athumbs down of course (translate "silly" by "funny" or "amusing" if you want). A thumbs down for trololing, of course, or for spamming. Thmbs down should be referred for these kinds of things.

I agree with you. But some people just can't handle others having different beliefs.
