At what age should a child be allowed to start school?

I think kids should be able to start preschool when they are ready, not when the parents or society "Says" they are ready. Each child is different, and learns at a different pace. So, its not really fair to say that all children should start at a certain age. My child started Kindergarten at the age of 6. We didn't use preschool because we taught him at home, where he should have been taught. Preschool is ok for people who need to have their children there due to working, etc , but we felt home was better for our child at the time.

As soon as a child shows interest in wanting to go to school then I would let them start. A love of school and learning at an early age is important for a succesful education. A child shouldn't associate school work with stress and negativity.

If the child doesn't want to go till kindergarten and you are able to keep them home then that is fine. By the time they are kindergarten age (around 5) they must start school though.

I have 3 children, Preschool should start around 3 and Kindergarden at 5 or 6. I waited until my oldest was 4 to start her in pre-school and realized I should have done it sooner.

From personal experience the earlier the better. Around 3 no later than 4 years old

if it were up to the government and doctors id say straight from the delivery room
but in my own honest opinion id say between 5 & 6
let a child be a child for as long as you can they grow up way too fast

wish mine could of started last year but miss the cut off by 3 days check with your county they will have a req that the have to be 5 by a certain date to start.

i started school when i was 4 goin on 5 but i was in preschool also!!

5 (kindergarten) or if you can afford a good preschool- do that for age for (we did for 6months at age 4)
