My best friend has a friend who is extrememly religious!! She only wants to talk about God. How do I politlely tell her I'm a non believer and I practice Voodoo? I'm afraid if she keeps talking I might have to put roots on her.

Just talk about it. Have a discussion. You don't have to worry about the "polite" way to say it...just say, "oh ok so you are a christian. Well I practice voodoo. I bet we have a lot to talk about!"

I practice Haitian Vodou. If I come across someone that talks about their religion like that I politely tell them I would prefer to talk about something else. If they don't to that then start asking questions about the religion that they can not answer. I ask about dinosaurs and cavemen. How can those be explained with the bible. If all else fails tell you would not like to be friends with them because you are not comfortable talking about her religion all the time.

You could also start talking about your religion one day. If she tells you not to talk about that then remind her about all the times shes talks about her own religion without regard to anyone else. You don't need to result in Hoodoo to get at her. It is almost a guarantee that she will no longer have anything to do with you if you tell her you practice Voodoo. Talk and hand the issue mundanely and if that does not work then throw a Be Quite spell at her.

listen you don't have to put any curse on her what you need to do is tell her friend nicely that you aren't into god or that you're an atheist who practices voodoo anyway tell her that you would appreciate if she didn't talk about religion all the time and that there's more to life then religion and see if she has anything else to talk about otherwise tell your friend not to bring this person around

There's very little you can do about her. Just tell her you're not interested and change the subject or ignore her. If you try to play games with her that'll just make her that much more determined to have you be a "conversion project".

And let your best friend know that you're personally offended by attempts to convert you when you have your own beliefs so she can also be a quiet and supportive ally.

Tell her as politely as you'd tell the person who only wants to talk politics or about astro-physics. People speak about what they do out of security. If I know nothing about astrophysics, I'm not going to talk about it.

By the way...its called Vaudoo -- not voodoo. It's Creole French.

Beat them at their own game. There is no other way. Learn more about what they believe than they do. Out wit them with your knowledge. Study and learn and strike with a furry and surprise your best friends friend. Your friends friend quotes Paul you quote Deuteronomy. Most importantly of all make it more clear than anything that the subject is subjective by nature and that you respect her perspective. She will hate you for it and you can, at another time taunt her about her hypocrisy.

This might be a bad idea, but it could be a way of meeting in the middle with a laugh. Show her a vodoo doll and ask her if she would like to go to a vodoo meeting in Central America this summer.
Hey, you never know.

there's no way to get through to them... it just makes them want to preach more. lost cause. besideswhich, if you're into voodoo, you'd be a great "get" for the team. you're worth a sh!tload of jesuspoints.

use care and beware.

the Santoria and christianity have lots in common

I deal with them as a child

I tell them we will speak but take turns and it will be mutual, not one sided

if they can't (and usually can't) deal with this, my time is spared and they go try and rule another person
