According to the Bible the world is 5768 yrs and 2 months. An explaination for the fossils etc is that they were in the world from creation. The same way tht\t G-d created grown up trees and a 40 yrs old Adam, He created an earth that contained "fossils". Another possible explanation is that the 6 days of creation where used before the solar system was working and therefore what's called a day might have been much longer than what we call a day nowadays.

Prove the earth is 4.7 billion years, you can't. But think about this, the Bible says the earth is older than the sun. Under Einstein's relativity theory, the earth is older than the sun. Go figure.

In Judaism, this is the year 5767....making the world 5,767 years old. God created the earth in the year 1 A.M. -- for Anno Mundi, the Year of the World. However, they are not literalists.

In case you are wondering, this is the year 1420 in Islam....or thereabouts. It's 1400-something.
