They said that parts of rainforests the size of wales were being destroyed everyday , wales is roughly about 2,000,000 hectares. How long was this going on for ? say this went on for one year , that is 730000000 hectares which is 65.8 times the size of Cuba. What do you think , is it true or false , they'd need a big demolition squad to demolish an area in a day

if that estimate is true or not, pepole should stop killing trees. the trees provide oxygen. people should cut down trees only when it overgrows. people are just killing themselves. well at least size of whales arent that huge. whales are just as big as dinosaurs. no probem. the real threat soon is GLOBAL WARMING. when that starts nobody will survive long enough. oh well

It probably is true, I can't see why though as it'll only end up as desert land - once the rainforest floor has gone there is just a few inches of topsoil and thats that. Plus they say that over half of all species of animals and plants in the world can be found in a rainforest, which must mean there is so much more to be found out about the place.
I learnt about it in college the other day, pretty handy huh?

The governments of the world need to get a fund together to buy rain forest land and make it into a national . and world forest preserve. to protect it forever.yes . It all will be gone and there will be no repairing the damage. This is the only way to protect it.the herbs for medicine. cures for cancer and diabetes and much more is being wiped out.and the animals and plants and other wildlife.could be protected. if people would demand it.ha ha what a pitifull person that is . to the ignorant one who says that the world will look after itself.species are being killed off every day. the Chinese white river dolphin is now extinct.as of last week.

Wales is tiny compared to the size of the rainforests and so is Cuba. It is being destroyed fast. If you want to see with your own eyes go to the One planet, Many people atlas. It shows satellite pictures 30 years ago and now.

it is over rated. factors are being cleared so human beings of that area can strengthen vegetation or strengthen animals. Now comes the subsequent question, how do you tell the human beings of the country or area that they might desire to starve or stay in poverty for the reason which you have chose to keep a tree. Over inhabitants is the main criminal of rain wooded area destruction.

To a degree its true, i think that those figures are exaggerated but it is happening, mainly in Brazil, the Amazon is being cleared for mining and cattle farming and it is huge amounts of land but, yes, in answer to your question, those figures are OTT.

Yeah, that estimate can't be right. We'd run out of forests within a few years/decades.

I wouldn't buy it for a moment, It's just another environmentalists lie I believe. what is it that all these people want to save a world that dose not need saving, It looks after it's self quite well and has done so for millions of years.
