The glove on the ring hand is removed just before the ring is placed.

You would have to remove the glove, perhaps hand it to the maid of honor to hold, while your guy slips the ring on your finger. Because there's no way a ring is going to fit over the glove. Then you can either put the glove back on, or take off both gloves and show off your beautiful diamond!

Well gloves can work all night if you get the right ones you can get the ones that just go over the middle finger. I have heard of gloves that the ring finger on the left hand actually comes off for the wedding so the ring can go on your hand.

I have seen some specially made for weddings. The 4 fingers on the right hand or just the ring finger are able to be slipped off but are still attached to the glove, they look "hinged" from below. That way the whole glove doesn't have to come off when the ring is put on.

You have three options!

1. Leave the gloves on during most of the ceremony and slip off the left one when it's time to exchange rings. Your officiant or Maid of Honor can hold it for you then pass it back when you're done.

2. Wear the gloves down the aisle and take them off once you reach the altar. Your officiant or Maid of Honor can hold them for you through the ceremony. You'll get the lovely photo of you coming down the aisle with your pristine white gloves but you don't have to worry about messing with them during the ceremony. No fuss, no muss!

3. Cut a small slit on the underside of the glove's 'ring finger' so you can easily bend your finger down and out the hole. Usually gloves are made of a nylon/synthetic material that gives them a little stretch room. The extra fabric will slip easily back on after you've gotten your ring and you won't have to pass the gloves to anyone!

Since your back will be to your guests most of the time, you'll have a lot of time to discreetly remove the gloves or the finger if you want to. Don't worry about looking silly - nobody will notice but you, your new husband, and your officiant.

Good luck & congratulations!

when i got married i wore long gloves but they didn't have finger holes. there was a small loop for the middle finger of each hand and the gloves came to a point there on the top of my hand. that way i didn't have to remove my gloves at any point. they do make gloves with a slit so that you can slide your finger in and out. which ever idea works and looks best for you. oh and Congratulations!!!

My sister's wedding gloves were made with a slit in the ring finger so she could slip her finger out when it was time to put the ring on. I think a lot of them are made that way.
