Here's one more person telling you that you did the RIGHT THING! More parents today should be as concerned and as involved in their children's lives as you are.
Congratulations! You earned your stars as a good mom!
His heart is broken and it'll probably be broken a few more times in his life as he goes along trying to find the right girl for him. When he does, he will thank you for what you did for him today!
God bless you! Stick to your decision - it was a GREAT ONE!

As a mother of a teen who once was broken hearted, I took the time to be by him and ask him until I was blue in the face to please talk to me because I couldn't do anything until he talked to me. I also made sure he was #1, more than usual, and get him to focus on other things, but also had him acknowledge the hurt and let him know it's o.k. to cry, so he did. It will take time, but he will come through. Please make that extra effort to pay special attention, teen suicide is something horrible, and no one is exempt. Good Luck! I wish you the best!

Just tell him u did this for him b/c what they were doing was illegal. I'm 16 and I was daiting someone that was 19 but I had to make this decision on my own to end the relationship. I was heartbroken to but it was the right thing to do. Just tell him that u had to do it. And eventually he'll understand.

You did the right thing. It takes alot to do that. You just wanted the best for your son. he won't understand though. Let time take its course. he is going to be mad at you, and you should have expected that. He cant stay mad forever. You are a good parent.

It appears that you did the right thing. Just keep assuring him that you love him with words and kindness and let him know that when he is an adult, he may change his mind about her and then again, things could work out betwee them. Only time will tell.

You really should stay out , it's not your love life your son has to learn from his own mistakes, if you butt in his only going to resent you for it .
