Can someone please translate the Spanish words Placito and Picacho for me?

venta a plazos = installment (of a sum payable)

placito = diminutive of plazo ?? ?? (could be)

I don't know of any word in Spanish like placito other than placido. It means placid, calm. Picacho means top, summit, the sharp point of anything. Plácito, which appears in the dictionary of the Royal Acacemy of Spanish, means appear, ruling, or sense. Sense could also mean "feel" or "feeling".

I think that these could be terms from some game or another.

picacho seems to be related to 'pico' which is a mountain peak. A pointy place. Serious mountain peak is a 'pico' or 'peak' A picacho would be something pointy, but less impressive.

placito seems to be related to 'plazo', which would be a period of time. This is a diminuative, so it would be a short period of time.

My rather large Spanish dictionary has picacho, but not placito.

My guess is that these are more common in Mexico than perhaps elsewhere.
