Because he can see Christianity for what it is, a multi-trillion dollar per year business. It is corruption and has been used throughout the past millennium to control the people and suppress the people. For what Christianity started out as and what it has become are two totally different places. It is nothing more now than big business, which takes money from people and then tells them that the poor shall inherit the earth. Amazingly the amount of assets that the church and they give so little back to the needy.

His father was a baptist minister & now he has rebeled against God & become a self confessed satanist who follows alister crowely ! check out the dvd "they sold their souls for rock & roll" & you will be amazed that he is not the first or last musician that has said this statement

He is capitalizing on a proven market technique. Controversy sells. So you say something that hopefully riles up people. They react then you become a martyr and sell albums.
