Many pray (or visualize or intention) because very often it feels like all we can do to affect our world and our particular circumstances. I personally, think that was the deal we agreed to before we came: Whatever we dwell upon in our hearts and mind we get more of in life. That's how my experience has been anyway.

Peace!

I pray because I know my Heavenly Father hears me and will answer me. I also pray because it is a priviledge to talk to God everyday.
What gets me is that people want to go to Heaven yet they refuse to spend anytime with God in prayer!

Praying is how we talk to God. You can't have a relationship with Someone if you don't talk to Him.

I pray for results, or answers to questions, solutions to problems. And especially for guidance for daily living.

I pray to lift myself up to God and be close to Him.
It is written "draw near to me & I will draw near to you". I believe pray brings us closer to God.

God Bless and have a Blessed new year !

Most people are a$sholes and pray when they get in trouble, other than that, they don't know Him, or talk about Him, but they'll talk about makin' money real quick.

Prayer = To ask.

If we don't ask, we won't receive. It is good to ask for spiritual gifts for ourselves and especially ask on behalf of others. Sometimes, when we ask, we're asking for stuff that will harm us; and this is why many prayers go unanswered. Hope is a great spiritual gift to ask for. God bless.

me too ! if you want I can give you some prayers

Loving God
protect me with
Your Love,
Prevent others
from viewing me with hostility.
Never allow
the negativity of others
to influence my life
or affect my destiny.

Oh how much good
I've lost
in losing control
of my anger;
such a large portion of life,
so much growth
I've let slip from my hands
by allowing my burning thoughts
to get better of me.
God,
teach me to let go.

God of wonders,
You've given me
the most wonderful
of all gifts--
the gift of free will.
May my will never deviate
from Your holy Will.
Guide me always,
so that all the choices I make
are good ones---
choices that are
in harmony with Your Will,
as long as I live.

God of unfathomable goodness,
the history of human agony
haunts my soul;
ashes, blood, and cries
pierce my heart;
diabolic schemes of oppressors
plague my mind.
Grand me an extra measure of
strength,
understanding
and faith
to help me find You--
to discover Your Light
midst the blinding dread,
through the revolving horror.

God, perfect God--
You created me
destined for perfection;
how far have I wandered
from that destiny!
How much of my purity
have I squandered
through careless, thoughtless,
self-centered behavior--
behavior wanting in morality
and holiness.
