he was actually pretty liberal for a Hebrew in Judea of his time. What with being a mendicant, criticizing the government and established religious authorities), advising people to give all their money and belongings to the poor, telling everyone to love everyone else, acting humbly (ie: washing feet), telling people to love their enemies and turn the other cheek when stricken, telling Peter not to hurt the Roman soldier who tried to seize him, hanging out with sinners, adulterers, lepers, telling people not to judge, lest they be themselves judged...
...not to mention the long hair.
But he was also pretty conservative about issues like sexuality. No adultery, lust, fornication...however he made it clear that these issues were between the individual and God, not between the individual and the established law.

Of course, terms like Liberal and Conservative are actually pretty flawed, since someone can be Liberal about one issue and Conservative about another. Most people don't usually even define the words correctly.

If Jesus returned to Earth today and saw what was being done in his name he'd never stop throwing up.

Firstly, WAS Jesus a neoconservative.
Second, Jesus was an actual anarchist during that period and he died for it. Neocons would detest him for sure if he came back, since he would try to tackle their fascism and biggotry. They would be too blind to see the truth and they would kill him somehow.

I think Jesus was wise enough to stay away from partisan politics. I love this girl's name above me.

No, he was the Original Conservative.

That's a joke. Conservatives, at our best, try to imitate Him and teach what He would have taught. But many are not at their best, and we all fall down sometimes.
