it's our Law of the Land, the people of the Bible committed crimes and felonies

I think it's time we re-evaluated why we tell our kids to mirror felons and murderers, invaders and rapists

A great idea! part of the swearing includes the promise to "defend the constitution" and what better way than to be sworn in by that very constitution!

I agree that using the constitution would be great. The country was founded on the principles of a separate Government and a separate Church. As it is now, official have a choice, and usually they choose the Bible because it is generally accepted as the ultimate oath. But some officials have used the Constitution or a law treatise/book. I doubt it will ever happen though, even our money says "In God We Trust." Go Figure.

The US Constitution forbids the use of any religious test for holding elective office. There is no requirement that anyone swear on any book or document when inaugurated or sworn into office.

I would suggest to the questioner that people of all races and creeds have broken laws, and such or did this escape your awareness? In sincerity this strikes me as nothing but a feeble attempt to dismiss a belief in order to embrace your own.

I completely agree with you. Our country was made for freedom and a seperation of religion and government. Somthing like the constitution should be used.
