Why is there so much hatred for those of the Islamic faith? There's intense criticism by many when Christians seem to "forget" Christianity's past (i.e. crusades, Catholic church halting scientific research such as Galileo's, and the Spanish Inquisition).
Please don't call me a bad Christian, I'm Jewish.

USA (and humanity in general) has a bad track record when "fear/war" is invoked. Anybody who looks different is an easy target - like Japanese Relocation Centers in WW2, while German-Americans just hung out and assimilated. :(

Fear and ignorance are the operative words here. I am a devout Catholic and I ALWAYS defend both Jews and Muslims alike. If I want to find a book with all kinds of negatives out there about Islam -- they're there. I choose the good books about Islam like Father John Esposito's great book, Unholy War: Terror in the Name of Islam.
Yes -- a Catholic priest who founded and directed the Center for Islamic and Catholic Education at Georgetown University wrote the best book on Islam. Muslims give it to fellow Muslims. I think it is a great faith.

It is easier to be scared dof what you do not understand . Look at the way the propoganda of the west portrays muslims. if they are not popping down the mosque every two minutes or getting the whole town up at five in the morning with wailing they are trainging in florida to fly 747's without needing to necessarily pick up the finer points of landing.
As you being a Jew should be aware the history with the Arabs and the jews goes back a long way to Abraham. the have always been at opposites.
I do not know whaty muslims believe but imagine they can easily be talked into talking up arms. all you shout is Haj ( holy war ). declare a holy war and killing is okay.
But if a foreign power came into your country . bombed hell out of it. created turmoil. killed old dictator. what would you do ?
why the hell is Afghanistan important ? probably because of an oil pipeline. no ?
what do i know? only as much as i am allowed to know.

I really don't know and it has had a detrimental effect on the majority of Muslims and "arab-looking" people. I don't believe in this hatred of any kind and if there is it should be kept to one's self. One of my close friends is Jewish and I've found we have a lot in common in terms of belief and I even learned to cook a latke LOL they're pretty good. Anyway, you're totally right; it is unjustifiable hatred targeted at us A LOT more than you see terrists blowin up ppl. I'm sure as a Jew you can relate to the negativity although it is getting better. Peace.

where have you been? ....islam officially declared war on the USA and the western countries..we have been dealing with their terrorism since 1979.
there is a big difference between the church halting science and Iran delveloping a nuclear bomb so it can blow up Israel, and everyone else after that.
Does the chant...."Death to Israel, Death to America" ..mean anything to you?

It's religious hatred used to foment the third world war which the multi-national antichrist bankers hope will consolidate the whole world under one new order. But they won't succeed because Jesus Christ will come back before they do.

because as you'd know since your Jewish the contempt exists for 3 reasons
1.They try to force their beliefs on everyone even in Australia one of the freeest countries in the world they critcise the way our women dress because of their own lack of self control
2.They always think everyones out to get them if you say something critical of Islam
3.They do not publicly condenm extremeist and terrorist within their religion

They are all ignorant. Just because there are some bad people in one's religion, people automatically associate them with the rest of us.
