I got into an argument with this guy over how opinions can't be right nor wrong and he asked me what 1+1 is.

I said "two".
He said "Well I say it's three and it's my opinion. But that's wrong. So opinions can be right as well."

Can he NOT distinguish between facts and opinions or did the pot really "open up his mind like" he said it did and now he knows everything (sarcasm)?

Well yes, you are right... 1+1 equaling 2 is a fact, not an opinion. Now you thinking apples are nasty, and him thinking they are good would be your opinions... There is a difference though.

well not really... because a fact is supported by more than a percentage of people.... and well an opinion is based when 1 person says....like in ur argument.. 1+1 = 2 it is a FACT becasue people write that in test and every1 know it by 1+1= 2.... and if u say 3 and 5 and 100 or what ever it is WRONG.....

The guy you had an argument with is an idiot.

1+1 equalling 2 is a fact whereas he has simply offered an opinion based on his own opinion which was incorrect.
