Try ginger ale and saltine crackers to settle your stomach. Also, try drinking some pediatlyte. It is not only for infants and children. Eat nothing greasy as that might upset your stomach even more.

There's an old wive's tale that says "Feed a cold and starve a fever". It differentiates between a "cold" and a "virus". Usually a virus does NOT have a fever associated with it. Soooo...the short answer is (1) drink lots of water (helps get impurities out of your system) (2) do NOT drink Milk or other dairy products (3) if you think you have a cold, have some vegetable soup and NO MEAT. Crackers and 7-up if you just can't eat anything of substance. (4) if you have a fever, you must drink even more water and don't worry about anything if you don't feel like it for 2-3 days. Crackers and 7-up again are good to start eating again, or fruit if you feel up to it. Of course, stay in bed or go to the doctor if you are not better in a day or two. If vomiting, go to Minor Emergency ASAP. Think of it this way:(1) A fever is bacterial and your body, herbs or medicine is needed to clear up the infection, you need to feed your body if possible. (2) If you have a virus, antibiotics WILL NOT HELP and will delay your recovery. You don't feed a virus because you want it to die, and it is a parasite that feeds off your good cells. You just need to let your body fight it, so rest!!!! I am not a doctor nor a nurse, I do know the difference between a cold and a virus! Good luck and let your body tell you what you need. One more thing, no sugar or flour while you are sick.

When I'm not feeling well, I take it easy on my stomach: nothing fried, and only a little meat.
I tend to go with things like cold, bubbly ginger ale or Sprite, and chicken noodle soup, or maybe a nice little dish of Jell-o, or pudding.
I think the key is small amounts, with plenty of liquids, and stay away from anything oily or acidic (such as orange juice).
Get well soon!

Drink something mild like water, or Gingerale. You can probably eat some soups too. Chicken soup and fish soups are especially nice, contain no dairy products and should be kind to your stomach and help strengthen you. I would stay away from all dairy products and fried food.

MAKE SURE YOU DRINK FLUIDS! They say that all of the time and it's not taken seriously alot but it's very important. Try also drinking juices and soda's along with water. Gatorade is the best if you have it. As for food, try crackers or dry toast. Also dry cereal. Hope you feel better!
