Bodies donated to science go to many different areas of science. Some go to schools for dissection. Some go to research to see what happens to people when planes crash in mid-air.
There is a great book out called, "Stiff", I'm not sure of the author it is a woman though. It is all about what happens to cadavers. It is very entertaining and true.

they dissect the hell out of ur dead body and the medical students around will make fun of each shape and size of ur organs.
