7 nights in Hawaii. Wanted to stick to Maui or near Honolulu/Waikiki. Any suggestions would be great, either from previous honeymooners or locals. Thanks very much!

We honeymooned in Maui in August of 06. We stayed in Kihei, which was a moderately placed location, very close to many beaches, restaurants, and great shopping. We stayed in Maui Banyan, which is more like condos they rent out. If you're looking for a more luxurious stay in Maui, anywhere in Wailea is great! Every resort there is gorgeous!! The Hyatt in Lahaina is also very nice. That once is closer to more of the tourist attractions. You'll love Maui, very laid back and peaceful, and beaches everywhere! I can't wait to o back myself!! Congratulations and good luck!!

dont go to maui go to oahu where there is honolulu and waikiki!! maui is sooo booring. i think theres only like one main shopping center. well if your looking for a more relaxing secluded vacation with beaches then go to maui. oahu has beaches too but a lot of tourists are usually there. however if you go to the other side of the island up by north shore, theres a lot of nice beaches. you should stay in waikiki in the sheraton princess kauilani. that hotel is soo nice :) any of the sheratons are really nice. pacific beach hotel is nice too with good buffets. waikiki is a good place to stay in because all the hotels are there and theres tons of retail shops :) while your there, make sure you guys to go the POLYNESIAN CULTURAL CENTER. it's really far away so you could probably get on a tour bus to there. its awesome there. theres some much things to do there and at night time theres a really cool show with firedancing, hula dancers, and tahitian dancers. theres also a buffet there. make sure you head over to the malls. ala moana center is right next to waikiki. oh and while your in waikiki, go to TODAI. it's a local japanese buffet with amazing seafood and sushi. if u go on the weekends its more expensive so stick to the weekdays. its about 28 dollars for adults.

The OutRigger Hotel on Waikiki beach is good, but right next to it is the most romantic hotel ever. It is called The Royal Hawaiian/The Pink Palace. The second you walk in through the lobby you feel like you've traveled back in time. It has everything to offer. It's on Waikiki beach, there is a ton of shopping. The OutRigger Hotel has great excursions too, they will teach you how to surf, kayak, and more.

Maui is great. Hana, secluded, beautiful rainforest. Depends on how much u want to spend. Wailea has some luxury hotels like Grand Wailea $400-$1000/nite to nice condos on the beach for much less. Napili, West Maui is nice, Kaanapali West Maui, Westin, Hyatt, Kapalua & Ritz Carlton. Check gohawaii.com.

I've been to Oahu dozens of times but I've never been to Maui. I hear Maui is really the place to go for honeymooners because it's more romantic. Oahu is for the tourist/party goers I think. Don't get me wrong, it's beautiful but I don't really think it's the place to go for your honeymoon. Unless you want to do lots of shopping and partying!!!

on maui- there is the embassy resort at kaanapali. if you find the right deal it is pretty cheap, it has excursions if thats your thing, a buffet breakfast everymorning for a small fee(like 12 per adult for 1week) then there is a great pool and its right on the beach! and maui is the funnest place on earth. there are too many tourists on oahu!
