Wow, sounds like me 10 years ago.
Speaking from experience, say to him you don't feel the same, and never will because he's not your type in the least bit. Tell him you hope he finds somebody, after you say all that, but remind him at the end that you are not her and never will be.
That will save him a few months nursing a crush and making an idiot of himself. I wish girls would have been that upfront with me.
I also wish I would have been in America back then. Where I'm from everybody's Arab so the Arab man's fantasticly magnificent Man-Weapon is not as impressive. I think it would have levelled the playing field a bit.

The choice is yours to make as you know how you feel about him. Once he is not a threat to you, you tell him that you are not looking for some one serious and would not mind talking to him if that is some thing he can agree to.
Life is a funny thing and we don't know were we might end up, or who will be assisting us. You may fall by the way side and he could be the one to pick you up and those you expect to, would walk right by and not help you out.
Secondly we know people's face and not their hearts, for he may end up having a good heart. The way you describe him it would be best if you all are friends some day to tell him to change his life around depending on his economic situation. By way of his clothes etc...............

Sounds to me that you have an attitude problem. Maybe this boy is only paying you a compliment and you are to stuck on yourself to see this. Besides have you ever the saying " Beauty is only skin deep". Maybe this boy is more attraction than you. One of your HOTTIE BOY may be only after one thing or they may have a mean streak that does not show. GROW UP AND SMELL THE FLOWERS
