I have had it for 6 months and most people say it looks good. Its in a really classy styleof writing. I had it tattooed for personal reasons. I am very family orientated with a lot of sisters who i love dearly. Instead of having them all on me (which would cover me) I decided to use my surname. Afterall,does anything get much more personal? Does that sound pathetic? And does anyone have any ideas that i could add to it? I was thinking of some sort of phrase in latin that was personally appealing.

first of all to all those that said tattoos are for people living in trailers, that's bull **** i have two tats and 3 peircings and guess what i have my own home. that's right a house.
now to your question i think that you should do whatever you want.
for your sake i wouldn't rely on what others think as our opinions will vary greatly from yours.
if you like your tattoo and want to add to it that is a decision you will have to make, me personally i'd say go for it but only if that's what you want...oh and ignore all the haters

There is no 1 right answer for that. Everyone has an opinion about their tattoos and how many are tasteful. I have 2 and I love them. They are on my back and you can't see them unless I am wearing a tank top. But not everyone agree on what is distasteful and what isn't. I love anyone with tattoos on them. It shows their creativity and uniqueness

If your lettering is stylized and classy, I would leave it alone. Anything you add to it would just get lost. I f you want a Latin phrase, put it across your collar bone or maybe down your ribs. Either way it's up to you. Keep me posted. I'd to know what you decide :)

Sounds like a nice tattoo. You could add under it in small letters .....Family Forever..or Forever Family.

hey, the tattoo is yours. it sounds cool to me and doesnt matter what others think about it ok. its not pathetic. its just personal.no one has to understand it by adding anything else to it unless you want to.

dam I was thinking of that myself today. put my maiden name on my shoulder with some roses or something.... I dunno tho...... just a thought.
