OK, I will answer to this. Lets assume that god exists.
Arent there some questions we have to ask? Yes he created us. This doesnt mean that you have to worship your creator no matter what, because otherwise you will burn in hell. This is fascism. This is torture and not a perfect being. I would ask him why all these children in Africa die because there is no water, while a nascar driver who is playing with his life survives after an accident? This is clearly a proof that it is make believe by humans ( stupid ones too) dating back to 2000 years ago. Unfortunately we still have some of those around carrying their false beliefs trying to shove them down our throats. But for me it is not whether god exists or not, it is whether I do want to worship a god in fear of hell. This is not a god I want and even if he created me it doesnt mean that I am his slave that he can put a disease on me and cover my skin in shores and make me kill my child to test my faith. It is like worshiping Hitler because he had my life in his hands.

If there was absolute proof about god's existence, I'd acknowledge my error. That's it, it wouldn't be a "belief" anymore, but a proven fact. Apart from that, I wouldn't do anything else since proving the existence of god wouldn't validate that a particular religion is the right religion, unless I had absolute proof that a religion is the right religion, but that's not the question.

Bye,

Hey, for years and years people said that Pluto was a planet, now they say it isn't. Humans would dispute ANYTHING - so really, that's not possible.

If I were athiest and I found this proof, then I don't know what I'd do.
I could close my eyes to it, pretend it doesn't exist, or go on living in denile. OR I could repent and be saved. HOWEVER, were I an athiest I most likely would go with the first scenario. Fallen man wouldn't bend his knee to God willingly if someone had a gun to his head.

I would accept the fact that that God exists.

Notice the difference. I would not "believe" in God. I would accept God based on the evidence, which is the only demand atheists every really make.

As a free-thinker and an atheist, I am always open to changing my opinion or acceptance of ideas based on new evidence. Upon hearing new evidence and facts, I have changed my opinion on a number of matters.

Some would naively see this as a personal weakness. On the contrary, I think saying you were wrong and correctly yourself is an incredibly good attribute.

That being said, I have no expectation (or even desire) to have that happen in my lifetime.

If evidence was non-disputable then of course Atheists would believe.

Now, depending on which deity (of the thousands throughout time) was proven real, this evidence might make a whole lot of Maltheists!

I'd believe. That's the beauty about atheists. We'd believe if there's evidence.

Gnostic theists can't disbelieve even if proof against their belief bites them on the nose.

If I found out that he punished anyone, I would spit in his face and tell him that I want nothing to do with him and want to be in hell for eternity. If he's the real god of unconditional love, I'd go over and put my arm around the dude and say 'hi poppa -- I always rejected those horrible images of you that all those fundamentalists and religious texts insisted were you.'

Most people find a way of believing what they want contrary to all evidence. Undoubtedly most would question their experience or there own mental state. This is true in Biblical reference as well. The Jews leaving Egypt had many miracles performed for them but didn't this stop them from worshipping false Gods

I'd believe. If Christanity was right, I'd prefer Hell though. If it was Judiasm, I'd probably go Chassidic or Orthodox. Islam, Hell. The other religions, eh, depends.

I will not violate my morals, not even for a deity.

If there was absolute proof, most atheists would switch, but quoting the bible is not proof in any way, means, or form.
