I have 2 diesel corsas for work, both bought new, 1 had to have a new engine after 6 weeks because holes melted in the pistons, the other had to have a new windscreen washer motor after 2 weeks.

Both vehicles being replaced in March (now 12 months old) and they are not being replaced with vauxhalls

I have owned Vauxhalls for the past 6 years, and apart from regular maintenance, I have never had to do any drastic work to any of my cars. I have been selling Vauxhalls as a career for the past 2 1/2 years, and there are always issues, as there are with any make of car.
If you are looking to buy one, make sure you get it checked over properly, and service it regularly.

With any car, they are machines. Things go wrong no matter who makes them. It is luck of the draw if you buy one that has been carefully looked after by a private owner, or an ex rental car that has been thrashed to within an inch of its life by boy racers. There is no car more reliable than any other , Vauxhall sell more cars than BMW, so will have more unhappy owners etc etc

Older vauxhalls like cavalier and mark 3 astra etc are excellent. I've run cavaliers for years and wont part with mine its so good.

Vectras and newer vauxhalls do have reliability issues. Lot of sensor failures.

They are awful cars. Nuff said. If you bought a Honda you would not have anything else again. They just go and go and are ultra reliable.
