The instruction booklet says you can add sugar to the brew basket with the tea, but when I do that the sugar ends up in a clump and the tea in the pitcher is weak and light in color. I tried adding the sugar after the tea started steeping, but it still didn't work right. And if I wait and add sugar after the tea is finished brewing it doesn't dissolve like it should since the tea has gotten ice cold at that point. I am really starting to get annoyed and I feel silly that I can't figure this one out on my own. Please help! Thanks...

Place the sugar in the pitcher. Hold off on the ice til after the brewing process. Stir the hot tea with the sugar and then add the ice. The sugar will dissolve. Or you can make a simple syrup by dissolving 1/2 cup sugar in 1/2 cup hot water. Stir until dissolved and add this to your brewed tea. You can even serve the simple syrup in a small creamer pitcher and let your guests sweeten their tea to their own liking.

I have the Mr. Coffee Iced Tea Maker and put tea in the bottom of the pitcher before the tea starts pouring in. I then stir in the sugar after the tea is done brewing. It tastes pretty good.

Use a coffee maker instead of your tea maker. Put 5 or 6 tea bags where the coffee usually goes & fill it up with water as if you're making coffee. After it's done brewing, add your sugar to the tea concentrate (I like it sweet, I add about a cup of sugar). Mix it up & the pour it into a pitcher. Add water to reach the strength you like. Always great!
Good luck

I never had good results with sugar or artificial sweetener in the basket either. Don't get me wrong, I love my Mr coffee Ice Tea Maker. We have 2 (one at the boat and one at home)

Just sweeten after (use a simple syrup, then you dont have to worry about it not dissolving.)
