Yes you should go. I understand what her coach is trying to do, but that kind of performance pressure isn't right, I think it's more important for you to be there for her then for her 'coach' who has some anger problems it sounds like.

Love prevails; go and don't "get permission" from the coach, you two are the only one that matters if you go. How are you responsible for what someone else does, you aren't harassing her when she is in her routine right? You would think the coach would be thrilled for the positive support. Keep perspective, maybe celebrate after the event so the coach doesn't have anything to say (I wish I knew how to spell the sound of a raspberry, because that is what I think of the coach playing God in your lives)
Have fun! Embrace life!

I say you should go and support her, don't pay much attention to her coach, although he may be right, she may be getting ahead of herself and getting way too much attention from you before, during and after the games, it's fine to tell her good job and give her a kiss, but don't do it too much, she needs confidence but also she needs that push that you get when you get tension and stress. It just makes you want to do more and do it better than the last. Now I'm not in gymnastics or any sport for that matter so don't get me wrong. But I also don't think you should miss your girlfriends big days because some coach wants to have conflict, your not there for him, your there to support the one who wants you to be there, and anyways, Don't you wanna be there to watch your girlfriend kick some major butt!

HEAR ME OUT! Tell her you can't go, then watch from the sidelines where she can't see you. After the meet you can catch her outside where her coach won't be coming down on you. But make it a surprise for her. Don't let her know your there until after the meet. After that you can tell the coach that you being there has nothing to do with her performance. And you plan on being there for every meet and everything she has to do. The coach has a real issue. I was a gymnast, my boyfriend a football player. The coaches loved us. It has nothing to do with her performance. But it seems to be effecting the coaches performance.

Follow your heart and support your girl friend at the State Finals.
I'm very surprised that a person (the coach) who in a position of trust and power would be so rude and, quite frankly, malicious. This coach is placing unrealistic demands on those s/he is supposed to guide and help. Clearly this coach needs an attitude adjustment in addition to sensitivity training.
Perhaps you can tell him/her "You accomplish more using honey than you do vinegar."
Hope this is of help and good luck to your girlfriend in the State Finals!

Go Man, Dont let that pompous Jerk Of A Coach stop you from supporting the one you love. Its not your fault She doesnt need stress if she has stress it will make it harder for her if you're there im sure it makes her feel like she can do anything. If she gets second then she gets second as long as she tries her hardest and she knows it then what place she gets shouldnt matter all that matters is that she has fun, and obviously her coach definitely doesnt see that.

Your girlfriend's coach sounds like a buttmonkey. You LOVE this girl, so be there for her. She wants you there and needs your support. The coach needs to chill a little or something. Maybe (he or she) is a little jelous of you and your girlfriends relationship and that is why they act the way they do.Just don't help your girfriend out so much when the coach is around.

GO, GO, GO. She needs your support and apparently wants you there. Sounds like her coach is a drill sargent. It`s nice that you care about her so much and give her flowers and a kiss or carry her out. Don`t pay any attention to the coach. GO,GO,GO & GOOD LUCK

That sounds wierd. Are you sure the coach isn't jealous. You haven't said how old he or she is, but your story (without knowing the coach's side of it) sounds like he is interested in her. Keep your eyes open.

If I were her, I'd want you to go.
Just don't kiss her and give her flowers until the coach is out of site. Maybe keep it to a hug when her coach is there.
