I'm a Christian and I can tell you now that if you see a Jack***, there's a big chance he or she is a Christian. The hypocrisy and and down right corny B.S. coming out of a lot Christians is legion. They are confused. Christian churches have turned into amusement parks where there is no teaching of what the bible says, especially in terms of Christian mechanics. In there confusion they have replaced what they don't know with what they "think" God would want. This is almost everytime some form of hypocrisy and/or judging. The confused Christian thinks that we have a responsibility to straighten out this world and the bible says we don't. So they don't allow people to live the way they want and force feed the confused Christian mind set to everyone they see. The nonChristian is nauseated by it and so am I. Most Christains are a downer because they always think they are better and almost never have the biblical truths to know we are all equally condemned in sin and we are all to be saved by GRACE. God does all the work, not man. Read the chapter of John 15, especially verse18.

There are a number of reasons pro and con. True soome Christians are disrepectful to others is obvious but the vice versa is true as well. Others who hold differing points of view rather than taking the high ground find it much simpler to try and degrde others beliefs. Also remember that Jesus said we are to be the salt of the earth. Salt was an is used to try and postpone the decaying of meat, and to add flavour. So it stands to reason if people are involved in activities that he would define as decaying that those involved would be upset with the presence of salt to thwart this process. Hope this helps. P.S. Don't be discouraged by the manner in which some in here present themselves. Seems alot of people are emboldened while hiding behind the mask of anonimity.

"Christians" are not ridiculed by the general public and media. Most of the general public and media are Christian.
Insane "Christian" individuals or groups of said insane Christians are the ones that get the attention and ridicule... a la Pat Robertson.
What were these religious people doing when they were being laughed at? Where they being like the door knockers we had yesterday and prying into our religious (or lack of) business? Or were they just minding their own business and saying something like "God Bless you" when someone sneezed?
In the first case ridicule is part of the proselytizing game with the wrong "target". The second example the people who mocked them were just being jacka$$es (and they probably have met one to many of the first type).

Some Christian groups have been bullying other groups for years. Anyone that does not agree with a sort of Fundamentalist Christian viewpoint is under attack.
Some people are tired of the Religious Right and it shows in popular culture.
While I don't agree that anyone should be singled out for ridicule based on their beliefs, I can see why it happens.

First let me just say tha Jim here is a Muslim.
Now, the reason people hate Christians in the West is because Christianity iss the Western face of absolute values. People want to make up values as they go along, and the concept of absolute values makes them angry, so they take it out on Christians.
It's always the Christians protesting against the people when they come up with pseudo-compassionate reasons to kill unwanted babies, retards, sick wives, old people. They just don't seem to understand that those people are inconvenient and need to take away from me-time.

The only reason I ever bash Christians is because the ones I have come across are quick to judge and tell me how wrong I am and how I am going to burn in hell, even though they don't know me, I am a pure person, extremely loving and caring, I believe in God and I believe Jesus Christ existed, with that said, I am also Wiccan! ULP ULP! There it is, plagued with a label that isn't called Christian, guess I'm going to hell huh??!! Not all Christians are like this, but man a good 90% of them are!

Here is the real reason: The reason is that there are two kingdoms; the Kingdom of Light and the kingdom of darkness. The spirit and the flesh are always at odds with one another. The people in the flesh are always looking for excuses to not turn their lives over to God, and Christians who are not perfect just give them ammunition. People in the flesh do not care about truth so much as they do a chance to "put someone down" because in doing so they feel elevated (pride). But the truth is that ALL have sinned and come short of perfection, so who can stand and say, I am perfect; look to me? NO one! Only Christ was perfect.
First, people must realize that Christians are not different than anyone else as far as their humanity goes, and are prone to make mistakes just like anyone else. So a true Christian is like one beggar telling another beggar where the bread is; just pointing to the Perfect One, the Healer, the Forgiver, because he has found Him to be the essence of Life itself.
Life is the battleground for the soul and it really is a struggle to find the true path to eternal life. Jesus said if we simply believe in Him and His story our lives would be changed and we would have everlasting life. The devil hates that and tries to distract people from the simple truth of it any way he can. One of his names is "accuser of the brethren", so consequently one of the devil's tactics is to get your attention off the important and relevant truth about Jesus the savior of all mankind, and instead on the imperfections of imperfect people who are attempting to follow Jesus. I advise anyone who is quick to condemn Christians to be careful because they are focusing on the wrong things and aligning themselves with the wrong side. Rather, I would challenge that person to consider Christ Himself, believe in Him and enter into the Kingdom of God and show everyone what a Christian should be by his OWN life....

Because of several factors... #1: Christians want to write the U.S. laws to conform to their own beliefs, to the detriment of those who don't believe that way! That is not o.k. with the rest of us, who have our own beliefs, thank you very much... #2: Christians who are ignorant of science and show it in public! NO, I don't believe in evolution, but the Earth STILL wasn't made 6000 years ago - it's millions of years old, whether evolution is true or not! #3: Morally/ethically confused Christians!!! In case you didn't know, war is immoral, Bush and company are scumbags, and decent people of all faiths go to Heaven! Good people do NOT, I repeat, NOT go to Hell just for not being the 'right' faith, being baptised, etc... Nobody can be expected to appeciate being told that Gandhi, Mother Teresa, etc. 'deserve' to roast in Hell for their 'sin' of not being the correct denomination!!!

Are you crying as you type this? O certainly it must be true, the christians are the ONLY people who get discriminated against right? im sick of your god damn one sided views, have you ever heard of the inquisition or public schools not being able to teach science because it doesn't correspond to some crap theories people were subdued to early in their lives? Or how about the everyday questions on this forum, Atheists why dont you believe in God? Because when theres logic involved people with more understanding and a mind of their own can sort out good and bad.
