1 US fluid ounces = 0.125 US cup
therefore 8oz
(the type of liquid does not matter)
but if you are talking about glasses of water it is an opinion thing (some say 6oz some 8oz)

I have to ask you. How big is the cup you are using? The regular standard ounces when you look at a measuring cup is 8oz. But, If you bought a supersize at Burger King then you have 20oz. in your cup
