At 8 months your baby is probably not ready for solid foods. Start her out on baby foods. Solid foods at that age can cause her to have a stomach ache since her system may not be completely ready for solids. All of Gerber and Heinz foods come with an appropiate age listed on the side of the jar as a guideline.

I would cut out the juice first off because juice has alot of acid and can affect their stomachs and taste buds. I would try giving her formula or just plain water. My pediatrician always told me that if my son did not want to eat not to force him because when he gets hungry he will eat. Now I am not saying that this is your case.
If she is running a temperature or not having bowel movements then I would be concerned. If it has been a couple of days since she has eaten solids, you need to call your pediatrician. Something may be going on with her throat where solid foods hurt to go down. It is really hard to say. Your best bet is to take her to the doctor and have her checked out.
Good Luck and I hope she starts eating soon.

Well, what else is she one, like formula or breastfed? Does she eat baby cereal? My daughter is 10 months old and love to feed herself, she won't eat if I try to feed her. So I have to give her stuff that she can pick up with her fingers (cut up ham or marshed potatoes, corn, cut up really tinny carrots, bananas or cantalop, ect...)
Maybe your little girl just wants to feed herself!
And you should lay off the juice cause she's probably filling up on it.
Congradulations!

I didn't let my daughter have juice until she was a year old, but if you are giving her juice you shouls mix it with water, but have you considered that she might be filling up on liquids, why don't you wait until she gets up from a nap or something when you know she will be hungry and try then, try sweetpotatoes or carrots most babies love them, other than that info, i'm not sure

Take her to the doctor and have her checked out. She may be having trouble teething and it hurts to eat solid food. As long as you feed her baby foods, shel'll be fine until this is worked out.

You should really see her pediatrician about that-he may have some advice for you.
Have you tried baby food fruits since they are sweeter-she may like that.I really can't help you-my son loved his baby food-please see her doctor!
