People call themselves christians that I would never associate myself with.
I believe what the bible says; I believe that God sent his son Jesus Christ to die on the cross for my sins and yours and that by repenting from my sins(turning from my sins) and putting my faith in Jesus Christ I am alive spiritualy. I dont believe it. I know it.
I dont hate anyone or would never wish harm on anyone. The bible says to love even those who hate you. and I do the best I can. This is how a true christian should be. peaceful, loving, meek, kind. I believe people take the word Christian and God and use them as a scapegoat to hide their true intentions. The word CHRISTIAN has been abused and no longer has any meaning. I was talking to a guy at work who claimed to be a christian and the next words out of his mouth curse words and blasphemies. The bible says that if you claim to be of Christ, you should walk or live as he did. Do you agree???

Yes. I still enjoy being labeled a Christian...but, I try to live the life of a Christian rather than claiming the title. There are a lot of professors out there claiming the same title, but they are living like the devil himself. And that, of course, makes the world think that Christianity is nothing but a joke & Jesus doesn't do anything for anyone. So, I understand where some people are coming from when they see Christianity through such a lens. And I try my best to point back to Jesus' teachings for that is what Christianity is based on. And those who profess to be Christian should be striving to walk as He walked.

Those who are familiar with Christians in other parts of the world (i.e., other than America) will notice a huge difference between the two. I think many professing Christians in America are spoiled & are only Christian because someone told them that they are. Or they "prayed a prayer" once upon a time & think they're a Christian based on that alone. There's no evidence of it, however, in their everyday life. And there should be. However, those in other parts of the world (usually, where there's heavy persecution)...you can tell that they're serious about their faith in Christ. They're striving to live a life that He lived. And I take comfort in knowing that there are true Christians like that.

And they exist here as well. It's just people have to be honest with themselves and seek them out. But, some people just want to paint everyone with a broad brush & write off Christianity as a farce because of the actions of those who profess to be Christian. And that's equally shameful on both sides.

I think what a lot of Christians and none believers that god is here to punishes us when that's not the case at all, Jesus and the bible cane be YOUR most comforting thing in life. Some atheist are living a preferred christian life with out Jesus. Then you have the people that think Jesus will give them a platter of gold just because they are christian. When all Jesus really wants is for us to accept him the way he is. So yes I agree with you, people need to hold an open mind and disusing religion is a learning progress

The previous testomony change into specifically for human beings of that historic era, and it change into the forerunner of the recent testomony besides. The previous testomony with its guidelines worked as a non secular educator till Christ - see Gal 3, 23-25. the recent regulation is, what change into the essence of the former testomony - worshiping God and loving human beings. This remains a similar, and it truly is the reason God's be conscious stands always. The previous testomony nevertheless might want to offer some concepts to this New - and previous - regulation , yet those particular guidelines are non-needed any extra. We actually have suggestion contained in the recent testomony and also our sober thoughts might want to artwork in sensible existence.

I don't like the way some people us the word Christian because they use it too lightly. But I like the meaning of the word Christian because it means Christ-Like. And that is how we should live if we call ourselves Christian. Sorry to say it has been abused by people who don't live up to the meaning of the word. I agree with you on the statement that if we claim to be a Christian we should walk or live as one.

Aye, I agree my friend. But you have to understand that people would never sit there and tell you that they are a heathen. People don't like to say negative things about themselves even though they are true. I'm not condoneing it, but I just wanted to let you know why people do it. It's not to purposefully make a Curse Word out of Christ-Followers, but it happens anyway.

What you need to do is not judge people, but test their faith. If it doesn't stand up under the scrutiny of the Holy Spirit, then tell them about it. Say things with the love of Christ, but don't be afraid to offend someone. The best way to tell if what you said was on the mark is if they get angry at you or what you said. If they just nod their head in agreement and say "mmhmmm", "yep", or "I totally agree" probably didn't get what you were trying to say, or is blocking it out and is refusing to listen to the truth of God.

Amen...I dont understand why it is so difficult for people to see this and be just kind....But NO! they have to be bible thumbers and curse everyone in the name of Christ....trust me on theis, the first seats in hell (if it exists) have the names of these hypocrites written on them.
I am an atheist/agnostic myself, but I am kind to people around me and wouldnt harm a fly. But I will go to hell I suppose but not the Christian who condemns all the Muslims or non believers to hell....go figure.
And if I remember correctly, Christ hanged around with prostitutes and the outcasts, even protecting them from being stoned to death....yet many Christians now, write his name on the stones they cast. Its a petty to see how people miss the whole point and just support their religion blindly.

We can never be sinless as Jesus was, but we should be improving every day of our lives.

If they truly believe in Jesus as the Son of God, and as their savior, they are saved.

However, they are baby Christians until they start to show fruit in their lives.

James says 'Faith without works is dead' (James 2:17).

I'm nonreligious but I totally agree with your post. You sound very sincere. Really, the VAST majority of people out there have absolutely no problem with most Christians; I certainly don't. What we have a problem with is the people you're talking about -- the people who call themselves Christians and yet are totally, completely un-Christlike. You and I may disagree on religious matters but we seem to agree on that point.

A professing Christian is like the one you said. A true Christian would be different.

They've glorified him by turning him into a super eternal being while some of them ignore his principles. The humble jesus would not want a cult in his name.
