Because I have felt the effects of God in my life, even when I try to fight it. Its like gravity, its there, its constantly pulling us to the ground, God is constantly there pulling on my heart, and I know it. He has kept me alive when I should have been dead, and kept me healthy when I should be sick, and hurt. It would be foolish of me to not believe in Him

An excellent question.

I believe in the existence of gods to begin with because the concept simply makes sense to me. I cannot explain precisely why, because I don’t think anyone that does or does not believe in any given deity can or will ever find any evidence sufficient enough to convince someone who believes differently than s/he does. But I will attempt to explain why I believe in the deities that I do believe in.

I believe in a Divine Female, and Her consort, a Divine Male.

I believe in a Divine Female and a Divine Male because in most other observable situations, both a male aspect and a female aspect are necessary for creation. Not only in the most familiar cases of male and female reproduction (like in humans and other animals), but also in asexual reproduction and plant reproduction: there is always a male ASPECT and female ASPECT that must interact to create new life: like how plant pollination consists of the transference of pollen grains (the male gametes) from the stamen to the carpel, which contains the ovule (the female gamete). As I believe that the gods are responsible for the initial creation of the universe (and whatever is beyond it, if anything), it follows logically (for me) to believe that both a female aspect and male aspect must have involved – hence, a Divine Female and a Divine Male.

(Allow me to clarify – just for the record – that I DO believe in evolution. I believe the gods are responsible for establishing the natural laws – some of which we have discovered through exploration of science and physics, like gravity – that allowed the “Big Bang” and evolution to take place. But I do not believe that all of a sudden They snapped Their fingers and the earth appeared.)

I believe that these two Divine “Superiors” are manifested in all forms of goddesses and gods in other faiths – Hinduism, Egyptian faith, Judaism & Islam & Christianity, Greek & Roman & Norse pantheons, etc. All of these are valid deities, and all of them are equally important and powerful in their own respects.

I believe that all other deities of all other religious faiths exist and are valid deities because I believe that no one religion is entirely correct (not even my own), and no one religion is entirely incorrect. No one religion has all the truth, or none of the truth. Every religion has SOME truth – possibly all religions have equal shares of truth, but I cannot be sure, and until I find some good reason to support that possibility, I will not commit myself to fully placing faith in it.

Feel free to contact me if you would like me to clarify anything further.

I respect your wishes on this. If I were you, I'd certainly want more then just something vague. Well, let me tell you how it was for me. I have seen Him, and I know Him and I sense Him. He has audibly spoken to me when I needed to hear what He had to say. The words which He did write in the scriptures are true and I have applied these truths in my life and the seeds that were sown by various teachers of His word have reaped a harvest. I have put scriptural principals to use in the raising of my children and recognize that they worked. Let me tell you that He loves me and I know this love on a daily basis. This is a love which you can know as well. Remember that G-d sent Jesus to die for our sins. Without that death of Jesus on the Cross there could be no forgiveness of sins, at all. Sin was the barrier between G-d and man. Each of us when we accept Christ's death on the cross as atonement for our sins experiences the removal of that barrier. We are then able to live daily in G-d's divine presence.

Aha so you might realize how ridiculous divine, supernatural beliefs are. EVERYBODY is atheist to 99% of gods in the world, but to deny the bible is to go one god further. The reason why I don't believe in the Flying Spaghetti Monster or Zeus or Thor is because of a lack of evidence, just like the Bible. Blind faith is denying logic and reason because people are scared they are going to go to hell. How pathetic.

There is no answer to that other than:
1) Because my parents do
2) Because this is the god most people in my country believe in
3) I am weak and cant face life so I need a Santa to give me hope, like when I was a child
4) I am brainwashed and need to justify my hate towards people who are different than me
5) Afraid to go to hell in case god really exists so I will wear the religious label, just in case

i believe in God because he works wonders, plus he sent his only son to save us. he sent his son to DIE for people, even people who hate him and dont even know him.

and because of prayer

prayers DO work, and to prove it, ive got the gift of tounge. :]
for those who dont know what "tounge" is, its when you speak a totally different language given by God, only you and God can understand. all i had to do was ask.

and his love, he made you; he loves you.

he lives in me, and i believe

It is through faith. Just like nonbelievers have so much faith in science. I can feel him.
