I am a Gulf War Veteran. It sucked over there. We didn't want to be there and the people over there didn't want us either. It's the Military son. You do what you've been trained to do. First thing is MAN UP. Take your meds because you were told to take them. Listen to your doctors, and also communicate with them what has been going on. No one will feel sorry for you if that's all you want. You need help so act on it. Tell your superiors and they will get you the help you need. Good luck solider...

You have answered your own Question. If you don't want to not feel like*** go back to the Dr. and start taking your meds. If you choose not get this under control you will probably get a dishonorable discharge. You have an illness and are not getting treatment, by your choice. But think of this at least you have great medical benefits. Where would you be now if you had no way to pay for treatment. Talk to a friend and tell him you need somebody to kick your *** in gear and get some help.

You have a chemical imbalance between your ears. If the meds are giving you problems, take it up with the doctor. Don't just up and stop taking them, though. Get on a better set of meds, and try different alternative therapies in conjunction with the medication. Hopefully, you'll eventually move past the need for medication, and you'll be OK again. It just takes time. Good luck, and peace be upon your soul :)

Get something in your life to pass the time...this to will pass, why quicken death, that will eventually happen too! When I was depressed I went to a prayer group and the demon left me! Find a group that will help. Otherwise find the things that you can focus on that will make you happy. Take one day at a time and choose to smile even if you don't want to...it will make a difference. I don't know what the military lifestyle is like, but in high school when I was depressed I surrounded myself with good people and it made all the difference in the world. I pray that someone will come into your life to brighten your days...and aleve you. Think on good thoughts, think about good things...think about what you want in life and make some goals that you would like to acheive. Don't rely on emotions they fool you. If you have access, get "The Secret" DVD. Some insite for help! God bless and good fortune to you.

Well, go to a doctor, and or psychologist and get a psychiatrick evaluation and you could qualify for anti depression pills, the main worry you should have right now is that you may feel like you cant turn back, that nothing can be fixed, but your wrong, something can be done and should be done as quickly as possible before things get out of hand.

What has caused the depression? Those psychologists only make things worse really. It might help to talk to someone you can trust about what you are going through. As far as the meds if they were making you sick or something then that's ok that you quit taking them but if they were helping you I would keep taking them. first of all do not attempt suicide please. That is way too much to lose. I think you need to keep going to the psych ward. They can do a better job of helping you then any one on yahoo.

You should think more positive, and make better changes in your life. Join some kind of social group. You should worry, if you seem unable to get out of your depression. If you attempt again, you might succeed and you might die.

You are not the only one who has felt this way. My suggestion is to please check in with your doctors again. Call your loved ones, or family, friends...someone that you are close to, or if anything your base chaplain. It's hard to reach out and have the strength to admit to others you need help, but obviously you have some strength in you because you were willing to serve and protect millions of people whom you've never met.
God Bless!
