next time you see the doctor ask him/her about trans cranial magnetic therapy. There is a waiting since the demand is high for med resistant people, apparently a psychiatrist is suppose to refer people not gp's. Ask about a newer age drug called celexia and the older one Prozacs. Just remember when suffering from depression there are usually some thing else and every thing really does get worse like real bad before things start to get better.

Who gave me a thumbs down and why. I think my answer is pretty good considering my experience.
Who ever gave me thumbs up thanks for neutralizing the negativity.

Sorry, you can't be "cured" of Bipolar Disorder; you just thought you were when you were on the medication! Patients with Bipolar Disorder frequently go off their meds when they feel better, and it's the WORST thing you can do. 2500mg of Depakote is a pretty hefty dose, so you clearly have a big problem with unstable moods.
I have Bipolar I and have been on a number of medications for almost 15 years. I can't tell you how much better my life is because of the right medication cocktail.
Go back to your psychiatrist, join a support group (you can find one at nami.org), and see your therapist regularly. If you do all of this, you will learn about the illness and how to manage it. Don't be tempted to go off your meds. It is a chronic illness, just like hypertension and diabetes. You wouldn't stop your meds if you had either of these, would you?
