I just finished reading some very powerful books.
God's Debris, The Religion War and The God Delusion.
They basically made me realise that I never believed in God. I used to pray pretty much every day and devote alot of my time to god but after reading these books I had to wonder that since I don't spend every last minute (Like a monk) devoted to God do I truly believe ?
What does God want ? Do you all think that if we repent we are automatically allowed into Heaven ? Is there a God ? Is there a Heaven ? Do you believe ? WHY DO YOU BELIEVE ??
WHY DO YOU BELIEVE ??
WHY DO YOU BELIEVE ??
WHY DO YOU BELIEVE ??
For all we know the bible or any other religous book for that matter is a fairy tale. What if there was a missing page saying "In a land far, far away."

HAHAHA People who gave me a thumbs down are stupid.
However I would like to say that I am and always will be Agnostic and not Athiest.
Agnostic means you will only believe something when there is proof. Athiest means you will never believein god.
there are many answers I'd like to give Best answer to but I can only award it to one.
BTW I really did read those books and they are fantastic !!!!

"The God Delusion"... :)
Great book. I need to finish it. Only 50 pages to go.
If you TRULY read this book you'll remember that Richard Dawkins said the probability of a god existing is vanishingly low and there is no evidence whatsoever. Technically, Santa Claus is (slimly) more likely to exist and he was invented by a Dutch guy!
I don't believe in fairy tales.

There is enough evidence to suggest in a designer. There is mounting evidence trhough experiments the even what was thought of once as a simple cell contains complex specified information. Many tests have been performed and there is a growing frustration among those trying to account for the origin of life, because the tests are clerly pointing that chance and random selection cannot create and orginize the complex information contained in the cells DNA. It is important to remember that those who write book against religion also have their own bias. It would be beneficial to explore where and why they have such beliefs. I would also like to reccamend a couple of books bya former athiest who took up the challenge to examine his own beliefs. The books are called the Case for Christ and the Case for the Creator by Lee Strobel. If you can't buy them see if you can't borrow them from someone. Worthwhile thogth provoking reads. I should mention the author is or was the former legal editor for the Chicago Tribune and an investigative journalist who doesn't simply take pat answers without pressing tough questions.

You don't have to spend every moment thinking about God and devoting your every minute to Him. I mean, if that were true, there would be no such thing as marriage/relationships/etc. Since you are spending time with your partner rather than God, and He wants us to have relationships, then we don't have to spend every minute devoting our life to Him.
God wants us to believe in Him, and that His Son died on the Cross for us, and for us to lead a Christian life. Well, we do have to repent, but we have to mean it. I mean, we can't just go out and go to a strip club or something, repent and then go back there. Yes there is one God (well, the Godhead: The Father, The Son, The Holy Spirit, but they are all a part of Him). Yes, I believe because of Faith. FAITH. FAITH. FAITH.
Well if there was a missing page that said "in a land far, far away" then not very many people would believe (after all, a lot of people believe in a God. I'm sure if it were there, then no one would believe.)

Please, while there is still time, abandon your faith. The millions of murders god commits indirectly and directly in the bible proves that if there is a god, he is not personal. Einstein knew right away that the Bible was full of lies. The bible talks about how God commanded his followers to gang rape, murder, burn cities, steal, and many other things. The Bible is just a bunch of stories written by man. In the Old Testament, the laws of back then were to put to death homosexuals, misbehaving children, nonbelievers, and people that worked on the Sabbath! I read The God Delusion too! If you understood it well, then you should realize that God is highly improbable.
See, the reason why you are freaking out is because of the virus of faith. There is no reason to be scared. It is faith that is still in your mind a little. Just use your reasoning, and you will be a happy atheist.

I believe in God because I have no reason not to believe in God. I see the love of my family, the miraculous births of my wonderful two nieces, the intricate design of this Universe, the wonder of the human body, and the existence of writings that have evidence for the claim of their divine inspiration (which destroys the theory that they're just fairy tales). I can't deny God with these facts in my life. To do so would go against sound reason & conscious.

I feel it inside me, strong like my heartbeat; fierce in my poetry; I know it as I know I love my Woman; as I see beyond the moment; as I rise up and take my stance; when I war; when I make the peace; when I hold the Spirit; when I allow the Dragons release; I know what all know; I look in the darkest places, that give the chill when I see the faces of all that were before me; as I get a glimmer of eternity; I know what is unseen in this realm is more than what I've seen in my dream; between what is of this world and the ethereal pearled; orb of twilight delight in the eternal fright of those who closed their minds intertwined between logic and fantasy spending all that time upon their knees for the glory of a story that even Satan found gory; I know through all this that there need not be a single wish for what is, and that is that there is a God.

There are answers to the challenges Dawkins poses.
Read Hans Kung's book "Does God Exist?" for an answer to all of them, from an amazingly erudite, wise, intelligent, thoughtful man.
I feel your pain; I was there; I found my way out, but there's no way I can tell you how in this little box.

God exists. Just not in the way that organized religion would make you believe.
Is it so hard to believe that each and every one of us is a god in our own right? Organized religion downplays this radical concept because it takes the power and control out of their hands. The church for example, is the most corrupt, lying, greedy and hypocritical organization that has ever existed on this planet. They want ONE thing, and ONE thing only. Power and money.

Read "The Signature of God" by Grant Jeffrey. In it you will find scientific, geographical, historical and archaeological proof that the bible is 100% true. Peace :-)

Jesus said that flesh and blood (humans) cannot teach or make someone believe in God. Our faith comes from God himself, who "dwells" in the soul of the believer and guides he/she to the truth. If someone repents of their sins and accepts Jesus as lord and savior whole heartedly, then God will transform your life, but the person must humble themselves and acknowledge God inorder for God to reveal himself to the person.
