Meh. Go with the fig tree story. Jesus cursed a fig tree for not bearing figs.... even though it was not the right season for figs.

The fig tree is not a bad suggestion, but I think that Mark 11:20-26 offers a good explanation. Jesus cursed the tree so that it might later serve as a lesson about the power of prayer and the importance of forgiveness. Also, I don't consider the wedding at Cana story to be confusing - he did it because his mother asked him to and we're told to 'honor our mother and father.' Likewise the story about his mother at the cross is not confusing. The general concensus is that his father was dead and so she needed someone to look after her now what with Jesus gone.
I think, however, that the pearls before swine remark in Mt 7:6 is confusing since it seems to be saying the Gospel shouldn't be shared with the Gentiles. Yet Mt 28:19 clearly states that it should be. So what does the pearls before swine remark really mean? To me, confusing.

What kind of school do you go to? That seems like a very strange request, to make a student write a confusing story about the Gospels. God forgive that school.

Max Lucado wrote a devotional book called "In The Eye of The Storm" about a day in the life of Jesus (Matthew 14-16, Mark 6-8, Luke 9:7-27). In these passages, and in the book, we get an appreciation of what a full day Jesus put in. It's a story and a half, perhaps you would get extra credit.

People, he's asking about the gospels. Not the book of Genesis or the book of Job. No one on here (except for Erin) seems to know a single story from the actual gospels.
Erin's suggestion is pretty good. Jesus did curse a fig tree because it wasn't producing.
Also, think of when Jesus turned water into wine at the wedding in Cana. Why did He do that?
And when Jesus was on the cross, why did He ask John to take care of His mother?
There are lots of stories you could get into.

The Parable of the Seed was considered confusing by the Disciples who had to ask for an interpretation. Mk. 4 I believe.

What the hell kind of school makes you write about such crap? Hopefully not a state or federally funded one. Tell them that you would like to learn about things in school that pertain to and have relevance in real life situations. You would like to learn facts, not opinions. Anything that comes with a large dose of "Faith" is not a fact, but somebodies religious opinion. Instead they could be preparing you for life by teaching you math, science, reading, how to care for a family, how to balance a check book, how to do your taxes, and how to avoid teenage pregnancy. I would take these concerns to your highest school official.

Why not the story of Lot fleeing Sodom and Gomorrah where God rewards Lot's blind faith (he didn't turn around like his wife) by giving him his two virgin daughters in consecutive nights of drunken sex..."god" makes it seem like it was the girls' idea and the most loving and natural thing in the world to birth your own daddy's babies!
Every book in the bible ought to be "gospel" so don't limit yourself to the 4 most unprovable books in the bunch.

It's always confused me why God felt the need to prove Job's faith to the devil. Why would God care?
