Dogs usually want the toilet after sleeping, fun activities or walkies.
Learn to use particular words to help the dog associate passing motion with your commands. And say something positive when it does the right thing. You'll also have to find a way to make sure your dog feels your anger when it does its business in the wrong place.

I have two Chihuahua's. The way i trained mine was when they were little puppies when ever i started to see them go potty i would take them out and tell them to go pee pee, poo poo.As they got a little older i would make it a routine to take them out as soon as they woke up and about 30 minutes to and hour after they would eat in the morning and in the after noon time around 5:00p.m.Between their meal times i would take them out every other hour till they learned to go to go to the door to go potty. This way has worked will well at least for me.
