not that I am unatractive, but I dont have a photo on one of these dating sites, and I never get any responces because there is no photo.

for some women the most important thing in a man is his looks, to me it is not. I truly don't fall for the typical "hotties." As long as I am attracted to him that's all that matters. What concerns me more is his personality, honesty, trust in me, respect, liking me for who I am, that sorta thing. I want a good lasting relationship, not just some short fun fling. Apparently that's too much to ask for since I can't find a good guy.

Well, some of those dating sites hide profiles with no photos by default, showing them only when an option is selected. When you don't put up a profile pic, it tends to make people think that you have something to hide. And if you were going to take a chance on someone, would you want to take a chance on someone who might be a total train wreck? Probably not.
To answer your question, yes, it seems like women generally care about looks to a significant extent. And it's even more significant on dating sites. So you have to let them have some idea of what you look like, or you won't get much action on those sites. Good luck!

If your on a dating site a photo is better. There is always the first initial reaction and of course physical attraction of wow he's cute we might have something I should talk to him. Looks are not everything and getting to know someone for me is more important they become more attractive as I see them for who they really are on the inside. If you can find a way to get a photo taken that would be good to start you dating process, women do want to know what you look like to put a face to the conversation and your name. Because without a picture, you aren't really a person. You're just a bunch of text. People need to see you to make sure that you're not just some kids messing around on their computer. You can also tell a lot about someone by the way they look. You can tell how clean they are, how well groomed they are, whether or not they're healthy, if they're on drugs, etc. Not to mention that if you don't have a photo, sometimes women think that you have something to hide.

Have you ever seen David Copperfield? He had that German supermodel Claudia Schiffer as his women for quite some time--he certainly is no studly dude.
And you should get a good shot of yourself--even if you think your dogs rear-end looks better than you do. Looks on a guy is just exactly the same as it is with a women--good looks will get your foot in the door faster, but looks don't last. Not having a picture at all says that you lack confidence--which is numero uno on the list of what attracts a female to a male.

the thing with women, is that they have their eyes set on someone perfect, and look over other guys who don't stand up to there expectations. Some want someone handsome, some what someone smart, or funny or just fun to be around. IF you are fun to be around then a woman shouldn't care how you look. and why is there no photo? you definatley should there are plenty of women who will think you are attractive. try it out, what do you have to lose! Not all.. I'd say some do though. Most people would probably prefer a nice, honest guy. Try putting up a photo to see if you get a response. If not, try another site?

People like to know what they are getting into. The dating sites are risky enough without being able to look at the person and possibly see if they are pshyco or not. Try getting out and meeting people in real life. Through friend, church, or family.

No, but without a photo you let ppls imaginations run wild and they wonder IF you really look like a one eyed cyclops which I'm sure you don't...so put a photo on your dateing site, you will get more responses than without one. Gd Luck!!

Looks seem to me more important to young women. Women who have been though times in their lives where they learn to value intelligence, moral values, companionship, and good character will tend not to care about looks so much, if at all.
