I think you mean "laporoscopy" or "keyhole surgery."
Take it easy for about 6 weeks afterward...no aerobics, dancing etc. and DON'T carry heavy weights...this includes hoovers etc.
You may experience some discomfort afterwards, occasionally. I had this procedure 3 yrs ago for an ovarian cyst and sometimes I get a stab of pain...it seems to coincide with storms or sharp changes in temperature.
Be aware that having general anaesthesia can cause changes in your sense of taste, for about a month after the op nothing tasted very good to me...
Other than that, you should be fine.

One side effect was that the residue of the carbon dioxide used during the laparoscopy to separate the organs rose to the highest point in the body and the shoulders were painful for nearly a week afterwards. Would have helped if they'd mentioned it.

Are you meaning an investigative abdominal surgery ?

If so .......its painful for a weeks or so and perhaps some bruising but suppose it depends on the reason for the Op

Do you mean a "laparotomy"? I'm not sure what a "lapiriscomy" is.
