The ultimate tuna recipe (ultimate in taste and health)
Use canned solid white albacore tuna packed in water.
Add diced red onions, dice green peppers to suit;
Add whatever other vegetables that you might like like a nice bean medley or chick peas or canned corn to suit;
Sprinkle in feta cheese;
Season with a little crushed black pepper;
Add a touch of EVOO (Extra Virgin Olive Oil) and a little bit of balsmic vinegar;
Mix well and eat with a good fresh foccacia pizza or some fresh Italian bread.
Tons of protein and low on calories and tastes amazing!

My secret recipe (shh, don't tell anyone):
1 can tuna in water, drained
3 tbsp mayo or light mayo (if you like Miracle Whip, fine; I don't care for it). Add more if you find it too dry; less if too wet.
half a medium onion, chopped
1/4 tsp (or less) celery salt
1/4 tsp ground mustard
pepper to taste
I don't like relish at all.
Toast some thick whole-grain bread and make a sandwich with leaf lettuce and alfalfa sprouts, tomato if you like.
It's healthy if you keep the mayo light and the salt down.
Or, stuff a large tomato with the salad.

Yes, once in a while, it's not bad. The tuna is healthy, the relish is probably just empty calories, and mayo is very unhealthy as it contains eggs, oils, etc.

That's how I make my tuna salad sandwich with mayo, relish, onion, boiled egg etc. Sounds good to me. I don't know that it's healthy though.

They mayo is the unhealthy part.
Try a low fat version. Hellman's makes a good one and it really tastes like the original. Also make sure your tuna is water packed and not oil packed.
I make tuna salad like this:
Albacore tuna-1 pouch
1/8 cup of low fat mayo
2 TB lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon of dill weed
1/4 cup chopped dill pickles, onions and celery
Combine all ingredients. I like this for a sandwich or served on a bed of lettuce.

I don't know if it's healthy, but thats the way I eat it. Sometimes I add a little onion, but leave out the relish

I love tuna fish! when I was younger I'd mix celery, onions, horseradish, little bit of light mayo-and a dash of all purpose seasoning. NOW a days, I'll saute' dice onions, parsley, green peppers, green onions, jalapeno, celery, a touch of tomato paste and all purpose seasoning for taste. Ones you saute' all that add the can of tuna-and eat it with either french bread/pita bread/ or whatever else you please. Tuna salad might probably be healthier

Yea and much more. Red onion diced up with that would go good and try a slice on provolone cheese or pepper jack cheese. Go all the way and throw a slice of tomato and either sprouts or lettuce on top and then sit back a enjoy your self. Oh one more thing, that is if you can hold out this long. Avocado thinly sliced and a dash of fresh pepper. I going to make one right now. Thanks

Is there any other way to make tuna salad? Also mix in chopped onions, chopped celery, and a dash of Tabasco. Healthy? It is if you use low-fat mayo.
