No, there are many native African languages and dialects.
Igbo, Yoruba, Hausa, Ewe, Twi, Swahili, Zulu, Xhosa, Kanuri, Amharic, Somali... ah, there are so many!

Go to this site and click on a country. It lists every native language still spoken in that country, and there are many results for each individual African country:

Africa is a continent which houses different races, cultures, languages, terrains and religions. The most well-known ones are Swahili, Xhosa, Amharic, Arabic, Berber, Zulu, French and Afrikaans. Some experts say there are some 700 to 3000 languages in Africa. Try page 6 (linguistic map) of the link below.

The answer is a simple "NO". There are literally hundreds of different languages in Africa and even more dialects. I work in a village of 10,000 people in The Gambia (which is the smallest country in Africa being only 300 miles long and approximately 30 miles at its widest point.) and there are 5 different languages just in that small village. I speak Mandinka and find that some of the Mandinkan people in the village do not understand me because they speak another dialect in Mandinka. It can be a nightmare to communicate in Africa but a visit there is a very worthwhile and beautiful experience. Africa calls you home.

Not even close. Many speak French (former French colonies) or English (pretty much everybody speaks English nowadays), or Arabic, but as far as native languages, there are a whole bunch.

Many people speak 3-4 languages, which sometimes isn't as hard because tribal languages are somewhat similar.
