Using just the Rice Krispies and marshmallows? What's the best way to melt the marshmallows?

It's going to be sticky to make, and they may turn out hard unless you use that marshmallow spread stuff in a jar.

If you use applejacks, you aren't going to get Rice Krispie treats, are you? If you like applejacks, I guess it would taste okay. Only one way to find out. Try it. I think you could leave the butter out without changing things much, but do not substitute olive oil.

The have to have some kind of fat/oil in them or they will be hard as a brick. I second the coconut oil. Gives them wonderful light flavor.

yes, you can use margarine or olive oil or any other kind of oil (fat)
I reccomend coconut oil... it's really good for you and it tastes heavenly
I don't know about melting marshmallows
it will just turn into a pile of dust if ya do

you can make it with our butter! The best way to mealt marshmellows is to put them in a disposable bowl (its really stick and impossable to clean off of a good bowl trust me i know) and then stick them in the microwave!
