If you are using low res (resolution) images then applying them to the desktop as a single image the image will be enlarged and it will appear 'blurry' or pixelated.

This is definately going to be a problem with most camera photo images (or indeed any image that is small and with low resolution).

To see what the actual size of an image is i suggust you download irfanview rather than using windows picture viewer.

Picture viewer is cute but it normally resizes the image to fit on the screen rather than showing you what it looks like at 100% resolution. If at 100% zoom the image does not fill the screen (or greater) then it will be pixelated (or blurry if you will) when it is used as a desktop photo.

The pictures you are saving probably don't have the necessary resolution to match the desktop. For example if your desktop is 1024 x 768 then you'll need a picture at least at that resolution to look "normal." Otherwise, if the picture's resolution is too low then if you try to scale it, then there isn't enough picture data (pixels) to make the picture clear. That's why they are blurry.

Make sure the picture is of good quality @ 72pixels/inch and should match your screen size (1024x768?).

If you are trying from a camera phone - not going to work.
