I need an affordable digital, High zoom. High megapixel camera to take shots of my puppies. And I need the camera to sit on a tripod and have the cord so I can stand away from the camera and trigger the shutter. Like they do at the portrait studio.How might I find this type of camera that is affordable? any websites or links would be appreciated. All I want to do is take puppy pictures.

I know the SLRs will have either a cord or remote operation, My Canon Powershot G6 has a remote that works well. I think some other higher level point & shoots have a remote as well.

Another function you'll want to research is shutter lag. With fast moving puppies, you want a quick response time.
