Noah’s deluge. To understand you have to start with Gen.6:1.
Gen.6:1 And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them,
The word “men” is Heb. (ha-adham) means “the man Adam” or his progeny. The word “them” is referring to Adam and Eve. The scripture is talking about Adam and Eve’s clan and not mankind. Mankind a subject for another time.
Gen.6:2 That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.
The term “sons of God” means angels or fallen angels. The word “men” again means Adam and Eve’s progeny or clan. Satan was trying to corrupt God’s plan. That is, from umbilical cord to umbilical cord would come Christ. This is why Eve is called “the mother of all living”.
Gen.6:9 These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.
The word “perfect” Heb. (tamin) means “without blemish as to breed or pedigree”.
Gen.6:17 And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die.
The word “earth” Heb. (erets) means “land”, not the whole earth. Besides God says, “to destroy all flesh” in Adam’s clan.
Gen.7:24 And the waters prevailed upon the earth an hundred and fifty days.
Gen.8:11 And the dove came in to him in the evening; and, lo, in her mouth was an olive leaf pluckt off: so Noah knew that the waters were abated from off the earth.
If the entire globe had been under water 150 days, where did this olive leaf (pluckt off) come from.
Gen 9:11 And I will establish my covenant with you; neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood; neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth.
Remember what God said in Gen.6:17, “to destroy all flesh”. Here God makes a covenant with Noah and his sons. Neither shall all flesh be cut off any more. Neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth. Two floods. One for flesh, Noah’s deluge. One to destroy the earth back in Gen.1:2. The global flood is a subject for another time.
Some consider the plateau of Pamir to be the original Eden. This probably was the homeland of Adam's descendants up until the time of the Flood. Today it’s known as the Tarim Basin or Eastern Turkestan. This region is surrounded by a ridge of very high mountains forming a gigantic basin in the midst of them. It measures 1,000 miles long and is about 350 miles wide.
Ussher’s Chronology says 2348 B.C., Davidson says November 2345 B.C. to November 2344 B.C. for Noah’s deluge.
Records of the Sumerians in Mesopotamia., their King Lists date to about 3350 B.C., and show an ongoing civilization well through the period of the flood. Egypt felt nothing of the deluge, they had an uninterrupted succession of Dynasties. China's civilization during the Yao Dynasty (between 2400 B.C. – 2200 B.C.) with no record of a cataclysmic interruption.
So Noah’s deluge was a local flood. But there was a global flood in Gen.1:2. Study II Pet.3:5-7, Jer.4:23-27.
Psa.104:6 Thou coveredst it with the deep as with a garment: the waters stood above the mountains. Psa.104:7 At thy rebuke they fled; at the voice of thy thunder they hasted away.
Gen 1:6 And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.

The fact that you find seashells on mountains does not prove that Noah was told by God to build an ark and that God caused the flood. It just means that the seas as we know them now have not always been in the same place. That's about it. I can't believe you have so little knowledge of science.

read a little bit about plate tectonics and you'll understand more about mountain formation. I also highly doubt that any seashell you recently found on a mountain was thousands of years old, dating from whatever year the flood supposedly happened. Large birds can drop shells anywhere, as can humans and other animals.
Please explain how you honestly believe you easily found shells dating back to 2345 BC laying around on the surface of a mountain. Something like that being undisturbed for almost 5000 years is tough to swallow.

They were once at the bottom of the ocean, but that was hundreds of millions of years ago. Since then, with the movement of tectonic plates, what was the ocean floor in some places was forced into the highest mountain regions. A great flood a few thousand years ago won't explain why those seashells are fossils that date back millions of years.

What are you talking about? Do you even know anything about geology at all? The stuff you should have learned in high school?
Its called movement of the techtonic plates. Its called geologic folding. The ground is constantly moving (its what causes earthquakes and volcanos) and changing shape. Its not stable.
THAT is why there are seashells in the mountains.
Take a look at Pangea sometime then follow the geologic changes of the earth and you'll see that the whole of the prairies of North America were once covered in water. Just like they were once covered in ice.
Honestly, how do Americans get through high school without knowing such minor things? Half your teachers should be fired for not doing their jobs. At the least, the American education system should be ashamed.

I'm gonna guess your a christian talking about the great flood that supposedly has Noah and his ark. almost every religion has a great flood in it. so that explains your seashells. you don't have to believe in the god of moses to believe in a religion that has a story about a great flood.
that is just the religious view of it. Earth Quakes Hun, earthquakes can cause what was sea to be mountain and what was ocean to be lake and everything else changes.

1) Billions of years ago an organism dies.
2) It becomes fossilized.
3) The area it is fossilized in is pushed upwards by converging plates - forming a mountain.
4) It has the appearance of being placed there by a flood.

Continents move. What is now a mountain top used to be deep beneath the sea. Continental plates collide, grinding together, the pressure causes the edges to buckle upwards and POOF a mountain where there used to be ocean. Honestly, it's grade 8 stuff.

I just had to take this one.
Have you taken high school geology?
When two tectonic plates collide one may go up above to create a mountain and the other and the other will slide underneath being destroyed. If this occurs under water any shells on the plate that goes up will be on the top of the mountain.
Or both may go up.
What do you think causes earthquakes? Satan perhaps?
It is quite simple.

They could have been picked up by glaciers, washed up by a tsunami, or actually moved across the Earth by tectonic plates. How are we supposed to know that you didn't find them near the base of a mountain? You need to provide more details instead of just saying you found them.

Satan hid them there to deceive you! Also there was no such thing as dinos, if you find a fossil claw, it was shed by the devil, modern scientists are decieving you. Finaly I don't believe you eather, it is impossible for shells to be found on mountain tops, so I won't bother to open my eyes to check, as I already know the answer.
If the shells came from preflood then where did the ocean come from for the shells, as the flood had not yet happened. If post flood then not from the flood. If durring the flood- well thats a lot of shells to breed and multiply in just 40 days.
The problem is we misinterpret the Bible. The Bible says the flood covered all the earth. It did not say all the planet. Look up earth in your concordance and you will find that it means a variety of things, sometimes it is used to mean the land of Israel etc.
If we take the Bible out of context then we will end up with false interpretations, as a result we will turn alot of people away from God. People whom Jesus died for. The Bible only has one context- its purpose is to point us to Jesus.
