I will tell you what is NOT the answer to bring peace: military occupation. I think that even 500,000 more troops would have a hard time bringing order to Iraq. What Iraq needs is to be built up as a nation. This means building an infrastructure. I'm talking roads, hospitals, radio stations, power stations, nursing homes, etc, etc, etc. This would cost trillions of dollars and take some years to work on. But that's probably what would help matters. Give these people something to lose, something to fight for, something to care for, something to make grow.

Iraq was peaceful before despite what the media has been telling you and the USA wants you to believe. The USA being there does NOT help. We should let them get on with it. It may be that a democracy is not the best thing for them!

Your solution would make things better than they are now, but it would not bring Peace. Ultimately, the country may need to be split into 2 or more separate Nations. The factions just do not get along.

Simple. Build a giant laser and use it to project Fox News onto the moon with Arabic subtitles, thereby brainwashing the entire planet into worshipping Bush!

Actually, they just need a few centuries to work their problems out on their own. We can try to make them move forward by brute force, but we will fail. The Peace Corps and the Red Cross aren't bad ideas; spending more money on third world aid would go a long way to reducing global hatred for western cultures.

nuke-um.

PS
for idiot that wrote below that there was peace in Iraq before bush invaded obviously didn't hear about the mass graves and killings ordered by Saddam.

the reason why there is such great blood shed over there is because they know that when the US leaves the country is up for grabs. the iraqi army we leave behind wont last. fear has led the area for century's and the sectarian groups are staking their clams before all hell breaks loose. you think its bad now watch when we pull out. Peace will come only with fear. and since the US is too moral to create that kind of fear Iraq is up for the dogs(killers).

PPS
for the idiot below that said the media only showed us violence and that Iraq was peaceful before. I say this, ask a real Iraq refuge from before the first gulf war. yes,... they were fleeing from Iraq even before Bush Sr. got involved. Get your info direct from the source instead of using conspiracy theories

I'm sorry but I think the people have got to make that choice on their own in their country because this violence has been going on for centuries and it's not going to end unless A.They kill themselves off.or B.They try to negotiate peace with each other and make it work. It's up to the people to make a change

Too many muslims in Iraq for there to be peace. Wherever you have a bunch of muslims they start killing each other, always have, always will, just like they are doing now in Iraq.
They all have to admit muhammad was not a prophet and pagan moon god allah is not the God of the Bible, and then ask Jesus to forgive them for ever being a muslim.
No Jesus, no peace.
Know Jesus, Know peace.

I don't think there will be peace in Iraq for a long time no matter what is done. The US has really messed this one up

Red Cross? Try the Red Crescent! It's possible they may not be killed. As for the UN, who believes it? Didn't stop the Yankee imperialists did?
