Does bench pressing do anyhthing for the biceps?

not really, only as a dynamic stabilizer...

benching when done properly will target the pecs, with the triceps and deltoids acting as synergists...

In general, Pushing exercises (like bench press) work chest and triceps. Pulling (like curls) will get the biceps more. Same with shoulders (pushing weight up) and back (pulling weight down). It is good to alternate muscle groups. You could definitely do bench press on a day you are letting biceps recover.

You'll want to do curls for your biceps.
